STAYING HUMBLE, while Seeking to Understand Difficult TRUTH
What does it mean to be Humble?
HUMBLE, A. [l. humilis.]
- Low; opposed to high or lofty.
Thy humble nest built on the ground.
2. Low: opposed to lofty or great; mean; not magnificent; as a humble cottage.
A humble roof, and an obscure retreat.
3. Lowly; modest; meek; submissive; opposed to proud, haughty, arrogant or assuming. In an evangelical sense, having a low opinion of one’s self, and a deep sense of unworthiness in the sight of God.
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. James 4:6.
Without a humble imitation of the divine author of our blessed religion, we can never hope to be a happy nation.
WEBSTER 1828 DICTIONARY
It is most natural for man to be proud. Or to want to be proud. Or have reason to be proud. This is the nature we are born with in this sinful world.
BUT
Our Creator, God, knows we will not be truly happy in this state, as sooner or later we make a blunder due to our sinful nature, and then we will be so disappointed it will drive us to depression, despair, and finally, wanting to die.
Sin is distorted choices which put us out of harmony with the rest of the Universe and ends in destruction sooner or later.
God wants us to be in harmony with His Universe so that we may be at peace with Him and all our fellow creation. The only way for this to happen is if we ask Him to ‘Make us Humble’, admit our distorted choices, and ask Him to take over and Help direct our Lives, in all the choices we make, thus keeping us Humble.
The ultimate example of Humility I can think of in God’s, is that of Jesus bringing a little child to Himself before His disciples, and saying, ‘To enter the Kingdom of Heaven, you must become like a little child’. The apostle Paul explains in his writings that God wants us to be like children in desiring the sincere ‘Milk of the Word’, but not that we stay as little children in ‘Understanding’ and ‘Knowledge’, but that we ‘Grow up’, retaining that Humble, Teachable Spirit, which we shall never loose, as God’s sincere and honest children, learning from Him throughout all Eternity!
Even God says of Himself, ‘Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
With ‘This’ understanding, my inspiration, goal, and aim, for this Blog, is to bring us readers, searchers for truth, especially on difficult subjects, back to the RAW BASICS of PLAIN and OBVIOUS TRUTH; TRUTH which is taught in Children’s Bibles, of which Most Christian Denominations can agree on, and which is a GREAT STARTING Point, for BIBLE BASED UNITY, regardless of our Religious affiliations, in an Open, Kind, Friendly, Positive Spirit, respecting all from where we are coming from, and willing to learn from all, but based on Obvious Weight of Scripture Evidence and Straightforward Logical Reasoning.
Praying that this Blog is to God’s Glory, and not just another ‘Time Wasting Exercise’ to Clog up the Internet!
