Angels v Humans and Heaven’s Hierarchy

Is there a Hierarchy or set of various placements or positions in Heaven among the intelligent beings or are they all on equal, democratic level? This may be challenging for many as the subject of the Godhead comes into play here and started with one of the Leading Angels!

Thoughts brought out here are very short and to the point so please bear with me as I share them briefly, all from God’s word, placed together in such a way as the conclusions should be virtually self evident!

Isaiah

14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

HEAVEN’S ORDER – IT’S SACRED FUNCTIONING HIERARCHY OF LOVE!     THE GODHEAD!

DO WE HONOUR IT?  OR DO WE DISHONOUR IT?

BY OUR CONDUCT?, OUR ATTITUDE?

(GC 520)

John   14:15   If ye love me, keep my commandments.                       1 Corinthians   15:46   Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

15:47   The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.

15:48   As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly.

15:49   And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Matthew  22:35   Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying,

22:36   Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

22:37   Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

22:38   This is the first and great commandment.

22:39   And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

22:40   On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

  • Can we be saved in God’s kingdom if we love our neighbour but ignore our God?

Psalms 14:1   To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David. The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

14:2   The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, [and] seek God

14:3   They are all gone aside, they are [all] together become filthy: [there is] none that doeth good, no, not one.

1John   5:1   Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

5:2   By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

5:3   For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

5:4   For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

5:5   Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God

5:10   He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son

5:11   And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son

  • Can we know the Truth in our mind and yet Not be Saved by it?

James   2:19   Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

  • Can we truly Love God with our Heart, but Not our Mind?

Proverbs 4:18   But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Luke   12:47   And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not [himself], neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes].

12:48   But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few [stripes]. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Acts   17:29   Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

17:30   And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent

Matthew 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind

  • What does true worship mean?

Romans  10:8   But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

10:9   That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10:10   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

10:11   For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

1 Chronicles   28:8   Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave [it] for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.

28:9   And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

Daniel   5:18   O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:

5:19   And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.

5:20   But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

5:21   And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling [was] with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and [that] he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

Matthew   22:37   Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

22:38   This is the first and great commandment.

Luke   12:28   And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

12:29   And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

12:30   And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.

  • Can we ignore the 2nd Great Commandment and still be Saved?

1 John   4:20   If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

4:21   And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also

  • Is Man equal with God?

Isaiah  14:13   For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14:14   I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Job  4:17   Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

  • Is there different responsibilities amongst mankind and different positions of authority and order? (Even amongst Nature, as amongst Wild Dogs, there is a ‘Pecking Order’, in order to preserve unity and smooth co-operation)

Exodus   18:25   And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

1 Peter   5:5   Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Ephesians 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

5:23   For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Ephesians   4:11   And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

4:12   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

4:13   Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

  4:14   That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

4:15   But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ

(1Corinthians   14:5   I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.  )

  • Is there different responsibilities amongst Heaven and therefore different positions of authority and order?

Isaiah   6:1   In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

6:2   Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

6:3   And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.

Isaiah   37:15   And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,

37:16   O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou [art] the God, [even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

Ezekiel   28:14   Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

28:15   Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

28:16   By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

  • Finally, what about the Godhead itself?  Does God want us to have an intelligent understanding of How we are to relate to Him?

Deuteronomy   29:29   The secret [things belong] unto the LORD our God: but those [things which are] revealed [belong] unto us and to our children for ever, that [we] may do all the words of this law.

  • What is Heaven’s attitude to Order?

1 Corinthians 14:40   Let all things be done decently and in order

  • Does this discount Love?

John   13:35   By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Ephesians   5:22   Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

5:23   For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

5:24   Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

  5:25   Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Ephesians   5:21   Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God

Isaiah   57:15   For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones

  • Let us therefore Respect and Honour God’s system of Order, both from the Mind;  and from the Heart!
  • What is the Truth of the make-up of the Godhead, which God has revealed of Himself?
  • The Holy Spirit’s position –

John 14:26   But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

14:27   Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

14:28   Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I

  • Does the Comforter work separately from Father and Son?

John  14:18       I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you

John  20:21       Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

20:22       And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Acts 1:4    And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me

Acts 2:1    And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place

2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Romans  8:26   Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

1 Timothy 2:5   For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

Galations 4:6    And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father

1 Peter 1  1:10   Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you:

1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.  .

2 Peter  1:21      For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

  • Is the Holy Spirit a ‘Separate Person’ from the Father and the Son? Or the Spirit of the Combined Person of Father and Son? Or maybe an Invisible ‘Carrier and Messenger’ for ‘Both Father and son’?

John 14:26   But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John  16:12       I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

16:13       Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

John 14:16        And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

14:17       [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

14:23        Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him

10:30        I and [my] Father are one.

1 John  5:7        For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Matthew  28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

28:19       Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

28:20       Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

  • Generally speaking, the personage who is greater in rank and authority ‘sends’ those who are beneath them (in order of position and authority), even though, at times, these may treat the other as ‘equal’s, for in many senses, they may be!

 (Noah Webster’s dictionary;  1828)

John 13:13   Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for [so] I am.

13:14   If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

13:15   For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

13:16   Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

13:17   If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

Genesis   41:39   And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, [there is] none so discreet and wise as thou [art]:

41:40   Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

John  12:5   Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

12:6   But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple.

Matthew   23:19   [Ye] fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

  • What is the Danger of Confusing the values which God has given us to order our minds aright?

Matthew   23:23   Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier [matters] of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

23:24   [Ye] blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

  • What unlikely illustration shows the sometimes ‘strange’  understanding of what Heaven esteems ‘Greatness’?

Mark 4:30   And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

4:31   [It is] like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth

4:32   But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it

Luke   22:25   And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.

22:26   But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve

22:27   For whether [is] greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? [is] not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.

John 4:10   Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

4:11   The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

4:12   Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

4:13   Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

4:14   But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

  • Jesus’ position –

John   5:33   Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth

5:34   But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

5:35   He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

5:36   But I have greater witness than [that] of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

John 8:53   Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

8:54   Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God

8:55   Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

8:56   Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.

8:57   Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

8:58   Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

8:59   Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Hebrews  1:4     Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

1:5  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

1:6  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Isaiah  42:8       I [am] the LORD: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,

46:10       Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Romans 4:17 , [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

  • The Father’s position –

Daniel   7:13     I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

John 10:27   My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

10:28   And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

10:29   My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father‘s hand.

John  14:27   Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

14:28   Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I

(1 John  5:9   If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son

5:10   He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son

5:11   And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  ) (In this text we see the differentiation between the Son of God and God himself)

1 Corinthians 11:3   But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God

1 Corinthians  15:24   Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

15:25   For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

15:26   The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death.

15:27   For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under [him, it is] manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

15:28   And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

  • How, in practice, do we acknowledge Heaven’s order?

John   14:13   And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son

14:14   If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do [it].

Luke  11:2   And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

  • Who shall be saved at last?  Those who acknowledge ‘Truth’, or those who ‘Love’ the ‘Truth’ and who are ‘sanctified’ by it?

James   2:19   Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Matthew   7:22   Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast

out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

7:23   And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

2 Thessalonians   2:10   And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

  • Does it really matter that much what you believe?

Deuteronomy  1:30    The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;

1:31 And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.

1:32 Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God,

1:33 Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents [in], in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.

1:34 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

1:35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

1:36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.

1:37 Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.

1:38 [But] Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

2 Thessalonians  2:13        But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

John 17:17   Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

AMEN

Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.
