TIME TO GET SERIOUS

1Peter  5:8    Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 

1 Thessalonians 5:5            Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 

 5:6     Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober. 

 5:7     For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 

 5:8     But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 

 5:9     For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 

 It’s time to get Really Serious!

Romans  13:11        And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. 

 13:12            The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 

We cannot afford to be frivolous!

Ephesians  5:4          Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 

Are you frustrated by certain things in your life?  Especially those things that don’t work out according to your plans or desires?

Luke  12:16   And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 

 12:17            And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 

 12:18            And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 

 12:19            And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry. 

12:20 But God said unto him, [Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 

12:21 So [is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. 

Do you still have lingering doubts and hankering questions about your faith or your church?

Proverbs  16:25       There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death. 

1 Corinthians  10:12           Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 

Revelation 3:17       Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 

James  1:6     …. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 

 1:7     For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 

 1:8     A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. 

James  1:5     If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 

2 Peter  3:14            Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 

What is more important?  Your church, your family, your job, money, your favourite pleasure activity, or your understanding of Truth?

James  1:5     If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 

1 Thessalonians  5:21        Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 

Matthew 10:37       He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 

Matthew 6:31         Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 

 6:32   (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 

 6:33   But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 

Where do you put your trust?  In your church group, your close friends, God?

Psalms 118:6           The LORD [is] on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? 

118:8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. 

 118:9            [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. 

Isaiah 49:15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 

How important is your home life?

Proverbs 21:8          The way of man [is] froward and strange: but [as for] the pure, his work [is] right. 

 21:9   [It is] better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. 

Psalms 133:1           A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity! 

How important is Order in life?

Psalms 44:15           My confusion [is] continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me, 

Psalms 71:1  In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. 

Isaiah 24:10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in. 

1 Corinthians 14:33            For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  1 Corinthians 14:40            Let all things be done decently and in order.

How important is planning and setting time to spend with God, weekly?, Daily? Or don’t you give it too much thought?

Matthew 7:21         Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 

 7:22   Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 

 7:23   And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 

Are we accountable for our time?  Have we control over it?  What about our money?  Whose is it really, anyway?  If we have committed our lives into His hand?  Will He let us down?

Luke 16:10    He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 

 16:11            If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]? 

Ephesians  5:15       See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

 5:17   Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is]. 

Psalms  37:1 [A Psalm] of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 

 37:2   For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 

Psalms  37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 

 37:4   Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 

 37:5   Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. 

 37:6   And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 

Proverbs  3:5            Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 

 3:6     In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 

 3:7     Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 

 3:8     It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 

Hebrews  13:5         [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 

 13:6   So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. 

Let us get to know the Lord much, much better this year, than we ever have before, as we see the Day approaching with more and more signs rapidly fulfilling, is my prayer for each one of us this year.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
